These magnificent apes are the heaviest tree-dwelling animals in the world, and you can see just how powerful and strong they are with the Handcrafted 20 Inch Lifelike Orangutan Stuffed Animal by Hansa. Made by referencing a portrait taken in their natural habitat, this plush Orangutan has been painstakingly created by artisans, who have sewn each of the dozens of individual pieces by hand – inside out – to an age-old method that reduces the number of seams for a flawless finish. Once sewn, the Handcrafted 20 Inch Lifelike Orangutan Stuffed Animal by Hansa has been sculpted with a soft fiber fill to capture the strength and build of these critically endangered animals, and then airbrushed by hand to achieve totally realistic facial features, as well as shading and highlighting to really bring him to life. With a fluffy, orangey-brown coat that’s been specially designed to resemble the Great Ape himself, this stuffed Orangutan has super long limbs with human-like hands and feet (well, they do share 97% of their DNA with humans), and contains a hidden support that allows him to maintain his seated position so he can be proudly displayed, too.

Hansa stuffed animals are as lifelike as stuffed animals can be because each animal is carefully designed using significant research and actual portraits of the animal in its natural habitat. Hansa's goal in being so exact in the creation of their stuffed animals is to educate children and adults about the animals' lives and to help increase the understanding and appreciation of these amazing creatures and of our co-existence with them. Each stuffed animal is hand sewn using an old world 'inside-out' method to minimize the visibility of the seams. Each stuffed animal's face is hand-finished and airbrushed to give it a truly unique appearance and the body is also carefully sculpted to create realistic features. These true-to-life stuffed animals look great in dens, offices, and display cases and also make excellent playmates. Every piece comes with an educational tag describing, in detail, the animal's habitat, lifestyle, gestation period, care of young and eating habits. All Hansa stuffed animals meet or exceed all U.S. and European safety standards and are recommended for ages three and up. We suggest gentle surface washing for Hansa stuffed animals.
